Poems of the Pala.Muthuveerappanar – A Falcon View
Abstract
Prof. P. Muthuveerappan has written many poems under the pseudonym 'Ponnarasi'. His poems have appeared in literary brochures such as Ilanthamizhan, Kavitha Mandalam and Vanambadi and in various magazines such as Anandavikatan and Dinamani. He has written 28 books and sung kavi for more than 100 poets. Poets are always having concern on welfare of the people. It is natural that the influences of contemporary society are expressed in poetry. Poets always take the initiative in repositioning the ways in which barriers are broken without propping up contradictions. It is the virtue of poets not only to demolish insults but also to express the good things. In his poetry, the author expresses the view of society in many ways. From his three poetry books. First one admires novelty & antiquity. Second, he has praised the whole antiquity & in the third one he has invented a new form of poem with traditional pa. His 3 poetic books thus the authors personality & deep concern for society.
