“al-Abyaath al-Muqaddasa”: A Study

    

Abstract

The Tamil classic, Thirukkural is translated into many major languages of the world. In Arabic Professor Mohammed Yousuf Kokan has translated in the year 1980 as “al-Abyaath al-Muqaddasa”. By realizing the Valluvar's thoughts and ideas, Kokan attempts to translate Thirukkural into Arabic with utmost meaning. The purpose of this article is to analyse the translation techniques and strategies of Professor Kokan employed in the work “al-Abyaath al-Muqaddasa”.
